You read it right- your chest is too big for fashion! This article came to me when I was researching and searching for inspiration online for my Youtube video- fashion tips for a bigger bust. The video of what to wear if you have a big bust can view here.
However, today we will discuss and talk on a serious note about why your chest sits too big for fashion. For a disclaimer, I have done some research to more profound talk on the subject, but it is still my opinion! Remember that this is my blog, thoughts, and a free platform to express my mind.
Bigger bust women discriminated against in the fashion industry.
When I was researching my Youtube video, I was supposed to develop some new fashion ideas. However, I came up with agitated women in Elle’s article about how they have been discriminated against in the fashion industry!
Imagine being a beautiful and confident model with a photoshoot scheduled. Still, designers and photographers do not know what to do with your bust when you appeared on the spot! It reminded me of when I went with my thick hair to the best celebrity hairdresser in the country, and he was working on my hair for five hours and did not know how to handle it! What sort of professional are you when you cannot handle actual humans? Not only that, designers have actually suggested doing chest reduction surgery on these models!
Professional stylists and brands work with models daily. Is it hard not to just ask general body size but in details? I guess that I am shocked at how “professionals” often can be very rude and unprofessional when it comes to ethics! In the end, it is the stylist who must feel embarrassed and inexperienced and not the model. What kind of professionals are they if they do not know how to work with different bodies?
Thin girls look good in a potato bag
Let’s look at fashion shows, fashion magazines, and anywhere models modelling clothing- it is always a thin girl. I am not saying you need to show off obese models, but women with curves. Women of size M and L that is the majority of the population!
No brand or designer has made me go WOW over designing clothing for thin girls. Let’s be real, slim girls look good in potato bags or any bad material clothing because there are no curves to pushing through. The material is not hanging on the bust and butt. Create high-quality clothing that looks good on curves, is not see-through, and holds everything in place. Then I am going to say- that is a professional designer!
If someone would do an experiment and put on a lousy quality dress on a skinny and curvy-size woman, it would not look as bad on the skinny girl. Still, on a curvy woman, the material would look cheap and
Years ago, my friends would tell me: go to that one store, they have so many dresses and for a very affordable price. Usually, I got all excited until I needed to try them on! When trying on, they never fitted right; the material was of horrible quality and just showing everything!
Natural boobs vs. fake boobs
Fake boobs or silicone boobs have been famous for the last 30 years since Pamela Anderson. Therefore, why fashion does not promote women with fake chests. Do designers think these women are cheap and trashy? Maybe. Would fake boobs take away attention from the clothing? More likely.
In the end, I came to a conclusion, on fake boobs, again, any clothing looks great. Quite frankly, fake boobs only look good in clothing, in my opinion. Have you seen those basketballs on a beach? You can see scars, veins through them, and that over-confident face showing them off is just “no” from me.
Fake boobs can be wrapped in any tiny triangle bikini and look good! Again, no effort is needed for them, no good quality, and nothing. Therefore, all the cheap China clothing brands have many club types of clothing that are only made for these women.
Lingerie & bikini brands? I AM TALKING TO YOU!
If you are a big bust lady, when was the last time you bought something in a lingerie store? Because I want to know the store or brand that has beautiful lingerie for D+ cup size.
I walk by Women’s secret and other lingerie brands. The only successful purchase has been pajamas and loungewear (maybe some panties). However, even if I find the bra for my size (rare), the skinny straps can never hold the girls!
Lingerie brands, you have only one job- making lingerie that fits boobs! How difficult is that? Why do you want to lose money and income?
Luckily, I found a bikini brand with beautiful and good coverage of bikinis for all sizes! I am going to have an interview with the owner of the brand. Read the interview with sustainable bikini brand owner in LA.
Why does fashion ignore big breasts?
It was unfortunate to read all these gorgeous women having to experience this in the fashion industry- only because they are different from others. However, I was happy to read that many have found stylists and photographers who embrace it! We should throw the nasty and rude “professionals” in the trash and let people know!
It made me happy to read these women realising they are unique and not going for the surgery!
I have always said that in my opinion, anyone who wants to do plastic surgery first should go to the psychologist! All the movement now of being “do not judge my plastic body” is made by plastic surgeons and their clients. If you do not accept your body, especially things you cannot change naturally, you need to first find its root. Maybe it is too much Kardashians and social media? That means you need to use social media more responsibly. I wrote about that a few weeks ago on my blog.
Know who you are
Your chest is too big for fashion! However, maybe only in high fashion! We are lucky that we can get any type and silhouette clothing we want. Therefore, as curvy women, we must think hard about what looks great on us and what makes us look like a pregnant Pinguin (ahem, A-line dress). Bralettes, tube tops, or scarf tops can look good and stylish on no-bra women. However, they can look slutty on us!
However, bodycon dress and hourglass silhouette dresses do not look good on thin girls as much!
I know women are now all about: let me wear what I want! But we already discussed it in my “You are what you wear” article on the blog. In the end, do you want to look good and confident, or want to force others to see yourself like that?! Clothing gives the first impression of yourself, your taste, and values. Fashion gives the appearance and idea of if you know yourself, your body, and your strengths! And your bust is your strength if you use it right!
Fashion hates us, but real-life love us!
Maybe the fashion industry hates us because, in real life, we get all the love?! Your chest is too big for fashion, but not for your beauty!
If I had money to invest in a fashion brand, I would create a fashion brand that would make pants/ shorts and skirts for petite women (as I am petite), but tops and dresses for a larger bust! There is a gap for this niche, and someone who will take it will be the winner!

Another great article that showcases other women’s problems and opinions is the Guardian article.
In conclusion, you are beautiful, and your bust is just a body part that many women would dream of. Your chest is too big for fashion, but it is not too big for the world and real life, and it is all that matters. I hope you enjoyed reading the article.
