WHY YOU SHOULD WEAR A BRA?

“There is no scientific evidence to suggest that wearing a correctly fitting bra during the day has any negative effects on health.” I could start and end my article with this one sentence but then the article would not be as fun. Therefore, Why you should wear a bra?

In general, obviously do in your life what you want while it is for the right reasons and does not harm your health! However, I wanted to research and share my opinion on why you should wear a bra and all the pros and cons. Remember that we, bigger bust ladies, need to support our chest more and take bigger care of it. After researching, does it even depends on the size or not? If you feel like a bra is not comfortable and bothers you, you are wearing the wrong bra or need to change to another design! The right bra should improve your overall feeling and confidence. However, Let’s start one by one.

Good posture and helps with the core

What helps your core and good posture?

One of the most famous reasons why we should wear a bra is that it helps good posture and core- just like high heels. This point is especially important for women with bigger breasts as it is a lot of weight and pressure on our core!

Toned up muscles and breast shape

How to tone up your breast muscles?

Toning up muscles and keeping the chest in shape is another important reason to wear a bra for bigger breasts lady. Gravity does the job and weight will pull them lower. The heavier the boobs, the more they will sag. However, the weight of your boobs is anywhere between 500g for B/C cups to 2+ kg for G+ cups. Therefore, even for B/C-sized breasts, you should think of supporting them, especially when walking, running errands, and working out.

By Elle magazine, It’s important to remember that when we walk our breast move 3 to 4 cm and even more so when we practice a sporty activity.

Dr. Ross says that even if you just sit at home, not wearing a bra for a long time is going to make your muscles weak and your breasts are going to sag, no matter the size of your cup.

Reduces strain on the throat and facial tissues

Pros and cons of wearing a bra

After reading around ten articles about the topic of if you should wear a bra, some even mentioned that it reduces strain on the throat and facial tissues. This reasoning surprised me but at the same time, I can resonate with it as well.

Better blood circulation

Is not wearing a bra good for you?

Better blood circulation is another important reasoning. When your breasts are hanging down freely, blood vessels and nerves are very stressed and the flow is not as good. The bra helps to hold them up in a cup and be rounder to help the circulation.

Reduces back and neck pain

How to know your bra size?

For me, the most important reason is that the bra reduces back and neck pain. Another reason that is super important for bigger bust women. The back and neck pain is real and I can never imagine myself not wearing a bra because it helps towards the pain!

Motivation

what happens when you do not wear a bra?

Yes, as funny as it sounds. Do you dress up even if working from home only to get you in the working spirit? The same goes for a bra! It can put you in a working mood, or sexy mood. The same goes for if you put on a sports bra- you will be more motivated to work out! For days when I do not wear a bra, I feel very chill and in a very not motivational mood.

Comfort

Reasons what you should wear a bra!

It actually brings you comfort. If you spend the whole day in bed and only, then obviously you can live without. Hopefully, it is not the case and you are active enough and in that case, you will want to wear a bra to support your breast from jumping around. Not only it can be uncomfortable, it will look good and also will reduce pain to your breasts and help to not cause damage!

If a bra is not comfortable for you, that means you are choosing the wrong size or design. You do not need to wear lace push-up bras. It can be bralettes, bandeau tops, or sport types of bras.

Class and elegance

Why wearing a bra is good for you?

Do you want to show everyone what you got and get attention when your nipples show off etc.? I do not think that your workplace would also be happy if you flashing the world. Probably if you have a partner, your partner neither. In a world where we have every type of bra and nipple covers available, it is not necessary to ask for this type of attention. Everyone even women will stare at your “doorbells”- human nature!

Confidence

side effects of not wearing a bra

The bra gives me a lot of confidence in my body. I feel very confident, classy, and sexy when I wear a bra! By using a bra you can set a mood- is it a more active and sportive mood, classy mood, or sexy mood? Abra is an amazing confidence boost and a great clothing item that is so unique only for us women! Let’s appreciate things that only women have and that makes us be the powerful women that we are!

What makes a good fitting bra?

Why women should wear an underwear and why the only reason to not is what feminists say?
  1. Band– the most important part for good support. It must be firm but not too tight.
  2. Wires– should sit on the rib cage.
  3. Cups– should keep the whole breast without gaping or overspilling
  4. Straps– do not give so much support. I was sure it is in the straps but turns out I was wrong. Straps should sit comfortably on your shoulders and not cause pain nor slip off. Two fingers should sit comfortably under the strap.
  5. Bridge– the center front part should sit flat against the body.
  6. Comfort. You must feel comfortable and good in your bra.

How to measure your bra size?

How to measure and know your bra size?

Statistically, most women wear the wrong size of bra. How to measure your bra size? There are two methods- traditional and boob or bust method.

In the traditional method, you measure your back and bust when standing up! First, measure your underhand where the wire of your bra normally locates. As tight as possible. If the measurement is an even number adds +4 (32+4=36) but if it is odd, add +5 (33+5=38). This gives your back size. To get your cup size, you need to measure the fullest part of your bust. After that, take your back measurement and count upwards from there. If your back was 36 and your measure is 36 also then it is A. If 37=B, 38=C, 39=D, etc.

The boob and bust method is great for pregnant or breastfeeding women. The method uses four measurements and a computer algorithm. All the measurements need to be done with the bra off.

 The four measurements are:

Measure under the bust as tight as you can. However, also measure it with a gap enough to fit two fingers beneath the tape. Then, measure the fullest point of your bust- freely, do not squeeze them, And lastly, repeat the same process but this time lean over with your breasts dangling downwards for 90° angle. When you have all the inches, input them into the boob calculator.

There is a quiz that you can do to know if you need a bra or not! (mostly for young teenagers). Click here to do the quiz.

It is very important to get the right size for you to feel good and comfortable. Also important to give your breast rest after a workday and let them breathe during the night. If you do not like a bra, there are many comfortable alternatives like a sports bra, bralettes, seamless bra, bandeau tops that will give your coverage but feel like a second skin.

I also was looking at the pros of not wearing a bra, and mostly it said to be the new trend of showing that women work against society standards! Then the second one was sweating! However, if you have even little bigger breast, bra lifts them up and make the sweating less so I will not agree with this one. We are not talking about size A or even B, but size C and more!

What do you think- do you wear a bra and does it make you feel sexy and comfortable?
