What to do in the Pyrenees mountains of Bielsa? I just spent the best amazing three days in the Aragon Pyrenees mountains in the Huesca region next to the village of Bielsa. Lately, I only speak about fashion, but I wanted to return back to sharing more of my passions and life, and travelling is one of my biggest passions. The trip to Bielsa

When I travel, 99% of it is the couple’s travel. I travel with my boyfriend and they are my favourite travels because we get along and we are into the same things. For example, hiking, mountains and peace. Therefore, at the moment that snow melts, we are in mountains hiking and discovering new villages! Bielsa is one I would suggest to everyone!

What is the best time to visit the Pyrenees?

We always go to the Pyrenees in spring (that is when we choose apartments) or during summer time to escape the hot weather (and we choose campings).

As we both love peace and avoid crowds, we enjoy going in spring, like now in March. However, the con is that everything is closed. Bielsa has a lot of nice bars and restaurants. However, 99% was closed and only one was open, another one opened on Wednesdays. Therefore, you need to see what is the best for you! We do not go to mountains for parties, people and eating fancy food so we do not care too much. As long as there is one place to have a beer and chat, we are happy!

Accommodations

We found the best apartment near Bielsa village. As it was out of season, the apartment was more affordable and the whole house was empty- we were the only guests.

The apartment has a great attic with a salon and playroom for kids. Not only that, the apartment accepts pets too (that is what we chose as we have a bunny). However, the best part of it is the view from that apartment- right with a view of the mountains!

The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, sofa bed for children and TV. I would suggest it to my friends and return back any moment.

Where did we eat?

On the first day, we did an amazing picnic near the apartment, at El Cornato! I suggest having a walk around the forests afterwards.

We always had lunch at the apartment, as well as breakfasts. With such an amazing view it was not difficult to drink coffee at home. However, we drank some beer and had dinner in Bielsa.

On the first night, we had some pizza, meat and seafood at Los Valles. Amazing service, great red wine and homemade pizzas.

However, on the second night, we had dinner at Hostal Restaurante Marbore. I suggest trying spicy chicken wings, lamb in salsa as well as chicken Satay salad.

Hiking to Cascadas Larri (10km)

The hiking route starts and parking are at Espacio Nordico de Pineta (or Parador de Bielsa). The route is around 7-10km long, it depends on how close you want to go to certain waterfalls. As we always try to see the most of it, we got pretty close to a Larri waterfall and therefore ended up doing 10km.

The whole route starts easily, the first kilometre, and then the most difficult for me was the 2-3km as the level was pretty steep and high, climbing up the waterfall. However, after that, it was easier again. I would not suggest doing the route as a complete beginner and/or during rain when everything is wet.

Also, definitely take water with you and some snacks. We love to always have some chocolate and bananas with us. In the mountains, there are a few spots where to refill your bottles.

However, seeing the waterfall of Larri and Cinca was worth it!

What I wore? What I packed?

My hiking and mountain getaway packing list:

• Fitness leggings (for hiking)
• Sports bra
• Biker shorts (if it is hot)
• Cotton biker shorts (for sleeping/hanging around)
• Jeans
• Amazon sweatpants
• Coat (as it was still cold season)
• Rain coat, small puffer jacket
• Socks and underwear
• Basic tops (works for everything)
• Hoodie
• Bumbag (the best found that helps me during these trips).
