Three days in Cádiz | What I wore?

Last time I told you about my first Seville experience. If you did not read it, search for the article HERE. Today, I decided to let you know a little bit more about my three days in Cádiz! Cádiz was a surprise trip for me that I guessed about a little time beforehand. We went to Cádiz with my partner for our anniversary and I cannot decide which of our anniversaries I have liked the best. All of them have been so special and fun!

Let’s learn more about the Cádiz, what to see, where to take the best photos, where to eat. As well as, what I wore because these outfits were a little bit more interesting than the ones in Seville!

Three days in Cádiz and what I wore

ABOUT!

Cádiz is the city in the South of Spain. It is located near the beach and is a very popular port city. A lot of people go to Cádiz to visit the beach or party- usually in villages near it. I can assure you that Cádiz is one of the cities I would love to re-visit another time! It is the city of good vibes and beautiful views. Cádiz is small so it is not about visiting museums or going there as a tourist. Visiting Cádiz is more about sunbathing, cold cocktails, and seeing sunsets!
I especially advise a midnight walk on the shore- very romantic!

What to see in Cadiz?

Castle of San Sebastian

For three days in Cádiz, we did not have time to see everything! We saw the castle from far away. After having a long day walking, we did not want to spend another hour walking to the castle and back. Next time we are going to visit it for sure. The castle itself is from 1706. The castle was used as a prison or for quarantines (how ironic)! Nowadays, events are held in the castle and even some scenes from the Bond film was filmed there.

Port

Port in Cadiz. What to see in Cadiz?

We had a nice walk around the port of Cádiz. There are some special feelings and vibe about the port and countless ships and boats. I always admire ports. Especially if you have a walk before the sunset, it gives special feeling and beautiful pictures.

Centre (old town)

Who else loves the old town of literally every city you visit? Especially smaller villages and cities? I am so obsessed with the small little streets, beautiful architecture, and restaurants! My boyfriend knows it so he always is the first one: look at that small street, we must go there! Have a walk at night around the little streets and then dinner in a local restaurant. We had the best dinner (though we did not want a lot because of the crazy lunch we had during the day at the beach!

Wall with canons

It is a defense wall that Spanish people used to protect their land with cannons peaking out! As you can climb up the wall and walk around it, I would suggest before the sunset! Cádiz is small but there are so many great spots for photo shooting and chasing for views.

Beaches

Tourist attraction places in Cadiz Spain

Obviously, why would go to Cádiz if not visiting the beach? We mostly visited beach Victoria because it is in the center and it is where we lived. Though, it was not full of people as I was expecting. Especially if you go during the working days and in the morning, it is empty!

Beach Victoria is almost 3km long. It is even rated as the best European urban beach and one of the best in Spain! Beach Victoria has a beautiful promenade filled with palm trees, restaurants, and cocktail bars! Three days in Cádiz and half the time we spent on the beach!

Another beach we visited on our last day was Conil. It is outside the Cádiz! To be honest, we much more enjoyed the beach in Cádiz. Conil beach was full of a lot of people, some even put on the music. The thing is, Conil is famous for the parties therefore it is full of young people. We mostly went there to eat because there is this takeaway place with the most delicious seafood you can imagine!

Monument of constitution

Monument of Constitution in Cadiz. Places to see in Cadiz.

If you are into history, then you will want to visit the monument of the Constitution that is very important for Spanish people.

Cathedral of Cadiz

What to do in Cadiz, Spain.

We cannot imagine Spain without its cathedrals. South of Spain is especially filled with these. So here you go another one! I am not going to lie, they are impressive though.

Park Genovés

Weekend in Cadiz. What to see in Cadiz. Park Genovés.

If you want to breathe a little bit from the city life, visit park Genovés. Big and green park, with beautifully cut trees. Park is very clean and it even has a little pond, a waterfall, and a bridge. A fun part of Cádiz and especially if you visit with kids. It even has a small corner with animals and birds (they did not seem very happy though).

Where to eat in Cadiz?

Arte Serrano

Where to eat in Cadiz?

On the first day in Cádiz, we reached the city before lunchtime. We could not check-in yet so we decided to have lunch first. After having a walk on the promenade we noticed a restaurant called Arte Serrano. The restaurant looked good, simple yet elegant, and had a variety of local foods to choose from.

Try their white wine, I can promise it is tasty! I chose the menu of the day (I think it was around 13 EUR). As a starter I had grilled vegetables, the main course was very tasty fish. The best part of the fish was the tasty sauce that it came with. On top of it, a cup of coffee to survive the day!

San Francisco Uno

San Francisco Uno is great restaurant in Cadiz where to eat and have some tapas

For the dinner, as we were walking around the town we found a restaurant San Francisco Uno. As we were not so hungry, we mostly chose tapas. I had gazpacho (cold tomato soup) and some fish/ crab salads that were very tasty at the end! Then I decided that I wanted some cake. I ordered Grandmother Maria cookie cake and it was one of the best cakes I have had in my life.

Picnics in beach

Original ideas what to do on your travel. Picnic ideas on beach.

For two of our lunches, we decided to have a takeaway and organize a picnic on the beach! The best decision ever. In Spain, it is very popular to have these grilled chicken places for takeaway. One time we chose the chicken with fries and had the best lunch on the beach. The next day we went to Conil and had fried seafood (the best I ever had).

Breakfast at cafeteria Disonnia

The best breakfast spots in Cadiz, Spain

In Cádiz, there is this mean road that has hotels, stores, and cafes all around it. That is where we were hunting for our breakfast. A lot of cafeterias to choose from that offer churro (Spanish typical sweets), Jamon (Spanish ham), or just a croissant. One of the cafeterias we chose from was Disonnia that had a huge variety of sweets.

Where to drink in Cádiz?

During lunchtime, we just had a beer with us on the beach. But on our anniversary after dinner, we wanted to take some cocktail (it is like a tradition almost). We went for the promenade and searched for some great beach bars on there. I will be honest, at night there are no views over the sea as it is all black! However, we went for the El pelicans music cafe that had a nice terrace over the beach. We suggest their strawberry Mohitos (very delicious). Another suggestion is to walk barefoot on the beach to your hotel room!

Where to stay in Cádiz?

Hotel occidental Cádiz

Hotel Occidental Cadiz REVIEW. Where to stay at night in Cadiz. Accommodations in Cadiz

My boyfriend booked this beautiful hotel close to the beach! It was a very classy and comfortable hotel. After two weeks of sleeping on the floor, we enjoyed the big bed! As well as the shower. I dream of a shower like that!

Why a hotel breakfast is so expensive lately? I remember that years ago when I traveled, most of the breakfasts were included in the hotel price. However, now a lot of hotel breakfasts cost a fortune and I think they only loose with that! Imagine a buffet breakfast with fresh fruits, vegetables each day but only a few that are ready to pay? Then the rest need to be thrown out? Make it cheaper and more people will come and in the endless expenses and more money!
As we spend only three days in Cádiz and during work, it was not as expensive.

Black scallop dress

I bought this black dress, especially for this occasion. It has a great V neckline with scallop cut, as well as cut on legs. The cut on legs makes the legs look skinnier and longer. I love this dress more than I thought I will. Quite honestly, Cannot wait to wear it again! I cannot believe that for three days in Cádiz I took only a few outfits! I surprise myself at times!

Shop the beautiful black dress here! P.S. It is super affordable!

This is how I spent my three days in Cádiz. First time in Cádiz but I am positive that not the last time.
