Who is a PETITE in fashion?
I wanted to remind my readers what PETITE is. Petite woman means ANY woman under 5’4 or 163cm (she can wear size XS or XL, but as long as she is short, she is considered Petite).
What to wear for Valentine’s Day as a Petite?
I would go for a dress as a Petite woman for Valentine’s Day. The best flattering dresses for short women are mini dresses (to visually lengthen legs), or longer bodycon dresses to accentuate your body and curves. As well as dresses with a slit or any vertical designs and lines (like pleated skirts).
The most popular colours for Valentine’s Day are pink and red. However, I will prove and show you that there are different shades of pink and red if you are not a lover of bright colours. Finally, do not forget that there are many details like prints and fabric that can make your outfit look romantic, and it does not have to be pink (like lace, bows, heart or rose print etc.).

Valentine’s Day dresses for Petites
Printed dresses
I found so many gorgeous printed dresses, mostly with flower prints. The printed floral dresses are great for the Valentine’s Day season to slowly go into the spring season and for those who do not like plain dresses. You will wear floral dresses not only for Valentine’s but all spring long. Therefore, these dresses are very practical and you will wear them often.
Look at the gorgeous pink maxi dress or unique light pink loose dress from Wallis, or the printed lace pink dress from Coast. However, there are also more elegant and minimalistic dresses with polka dots, like the satin dress from Oasis.
Long Maxi Petite dresses
Maxi dresses are great for fancy events or work events. Especially if there are weddings planned and you need a wedding guest dress for the February season. Boohoo offers gorgeous affordable Petite maxi dresses, or check out Karen Millen if you want more luxurious dresses.
Midi dresses for Petites
If you are not into mini dresses (maybe because of age or style), but maxi dresses are too long for you either, choose midi dresses. Midi dresses still show a little bit of skin, are a safer version for Petites (they will most likely fit you and not be too long) as well as give an even more elegant look than maxi dresses.
There are so many midi dresses to choose from, like the princess-like Glinda satin dresses from Oasis, the pleated dress from Coast, and the pink lace dress from Wallis. I like the Dorothy Perkins Chiffon dress because it is in berry pink tones, and not the usual bright colours. However, if you want a gorgeous dress for winter, choose the knitted burgundy red midi dress from Petite Studio. Finally, if you are in the USA, look at Bee Petite dresses.
Mini Petite dresses
Mini dresses are my favourite type of dress, and they are great for parties or date nights. However, some loose mini-dresses would be appropriate for daily use, and maybe even work.
Look at the puff-balloon skirt red Boohoo dress with bows, flute sleeve Wallis dress, ruffle Karen Millen dress or even the hot pink blazer dress.
Valentine’s Tops for Petites
Blouses and Tops
Investing in pink or red blouses and tops is a great way how to mix and match different romantic outfits for daily looks as well as work. For example, my favourite pieces are chiffon blouses that you can wear with jeans, tailored pants, skirts or even leather pants (endless options). Finally, I suggest looking into the bow one-shoulder top from Karen Millen, and the t-shirt from Petite Studio.
Sweaters, cardigans and jumpers
When it comes to holidays or any festive season, sweaters are my favourite to have. It is so nice and easy to have a warm sweater with a heart or bow print and I love pink-coloured sweaters a lot. Last but not least, they are great to have if you do not celebrate Valentine’s day but love to be in the spirit!

Petite Skirts
For pencil midi skirts and more office vibes, look at Karen Millen’s red slit skirts. However, if you want girly or party mini skirts, check out the Boohoo or Debenhams. However, I love the pink midi skirt from Boden, that has pockets and the skirt gives me Carrie Bradshaw energy.
Petite pants
Red and pink pants are a huge investment but if you want to make your fashion game the next, level these pants are for you! Some of the Petite pants include lace and floral print, but some are very aesthetic and great for office wear, like the pale pink trousers from Loft. Finally, I suggest looking into the red pants from Oh Polly, or red and pink trousers from Boden.
Romantic jackets and coats
Blazers usually do not give a romantic Valentine’s vibe (are too masculine). However, the satin blazer from Ann Taylor proves how fabric can change the vibe of the whole clothing piece. Finally, a girly pink coat or fierce red coat. Red would also go great for Christmas season.
Loungewear and Pyjamas
As an introverted person who loves to spend weekends at home with my boyfriend, the loungewear and pyjamas section is my favourite of all! My TOP three favourites are the lounge pants from Oh Polly, the box pyjamas from Pixie Girl and the Candy stripe dressing gown from Boohoo. Finally, look at ASOS because ASOS have super cute girly Petite. pyjamas.
