There are no lakes at all near me, only rivers and sea. However, the lake style is similar to river cruise outfits and can be mix matched. Therefore, even if you do not go to any lake, I still think these are gorgeous summer outfits. Without further due, let’s dive into the fashion of lake style and what to wear when going to the lake or lakehouse. Last but not least, most of these outfits are a combination of casual, comfortable and chic (my favourite types of outfits).

Lake outfit ideas for women

Denim white lake outfit

If you do not have anything denim white (shorts, jeans) in your summer wardrobe, what are you even wearing in summer? That is how important white denim is for summer outfits. I styled the white jeans with a cute crochet top, which is perfect for hot summer days. Last but not least, added a cute crochet matching purse and the iconic Chloe sandals.

White dress outfit for summer

As you can see, white will be the centre of this style guide. The reason is that white can be combined in different ways, as well as dressed for more casual or more classy occasions. The simple white mini dress is perfect for the day at the lake, styled with the Tory Burch slides and a hat to protect your head from the sun.

Chic skirt lake outfit

The longer skirt is gorgeous if the day is colder or the even is more elegant. I fell in love with the blue button-up ruffle skirt. The skirt also has a striped pattern which is the most popular pattern for any water outfit (lake, river or sea). Last but not least, added the same brown slides and a nice crochet white top.

Casual denim blue outfit

Denim blue is the number one fashion piece for summer wardrobe. I would suggest going for longer shorts because they look more flattering and elegant. Then I added the tie-up striped button-up shirt for a more classy old-money aesthetic and the retro sunglasses.

Lake outfit for a special event

Do you have some special or elegant events at the lake? Then go for this gorgeous tree leaves printed dress with a ruffle. When I first saw it, I thought those are lemons but they are not. However, the leaf print is even more appropriate for lake style than lemons are. Last but not least, the same crochet white purse and some comfortable platform sandals. I do not suggest wearing heels for days at the lake, because they can not only be uncomfortable but even dangerous to walk in near water and the grass.

Jeans summer outfit

Last but not least, high-waisted jeans outfit. The outfit is perfect for rainy days or colder days. I loved that the jeans have a striped pattern as well. I topped it off with a simple minimalistic tank top and denim sandals.
