Welcome to my small apartment tour, or as I love to call it- My Petite home. I live with my boyfriend and our pet bunny in a rented apartment. The apartment is small in that we do not have enough space for our things (like clothing and bicycles). However, I still think it is enough space for a young couple- but not the stuff that we own. Therefore, for many years I did not want to spend money or time on trying to improve something that seems impossible to improve.
However, lately, I am more into improving interior, reading about decoration and trying new recipes. Let’s say- being a housewife (haha). We never know what is going to happen in the future, and I do not want to die waiting for us to get a better home. Therefore, I decided to work with what I have. Which means, the money, resources and my Petite apartment. I decided to share everything on my social media and my blog because I want to inspire people who might also live in small apartments, people who are on a budget and people who are waiting for miracle to happen. The quote for my Petite home blog will be- work with what you have!
Last but not least, I want to be sure that my readers know that I am very thankful for everything I have. That includes the food I eat, the roof I have and that every day I am warm, loved and protected. However, that does not mean that we cannot improve our homes, make them feel more like home and dream about something more.

My small apartment story
Firstly, as I already mentioned, we live in a rented apartment. That means we are not going to drill any holes to hang decorations, we are limited when it comes to furniture and heavy interior pieces. Secondly, our rooms include a living room, bathroom, kitchen and three bedrooms (one is for us, and in two of them we keep clothing and the rest of our stuff).
Living Room
The living room is one of my favourite rooms in the house, but also the one I wish to improve the most. Firstly, we do everything in the living room. We eat here, I work here and we hang out here. Therefore, it is the room I want to be the prettiest and the most comfortable.
How have I improved it so far? I bought a white rug from JYSK (which is not as white anymore). The rug makes the room look warm and keeps it warm. Then I got some flower pots and a flower, as well as some decorations for the eating table. Last but not least, I have decorative pillows from Shein which are both practical and decorative. In general, I like the furniture that the apartment already had, like the TV furniture and chairs.
What do I want to change/improve about the living room? Firstly, we have two couches, and I want to throw out one because the room looks stuffed. However, we will not do it because it is practical as we can easily take our naps.
Secondly, I would like to have a more aesthetic blanket or rug for my bunny that is easy to clean as well.
Last but not least, some small decorations. For example, I need some candle sticks and vases. Especially, when the Christmas holiday season approaches, I always notice the small decorations we are missing for our table.
Bedroom
Our bedroom is another room that I love a lot. Maybe it is because we only sleep here, so it usually is clean and organised. Especially after I deep-cleaned and organised it very well. Therefore, now it looks even more aesthetic and light. One of the things I love a lot about the bedroom is the white transparent curtain that makes the bedroom always light and neat.
What do I want to change/improve about the living room? Firstly, we have a big closet where we can fold clothes but the hanging rack is broken- would love to have it fixed. Secondly, have a few more nice quality aesthetic sheets.
Last but not least, body-height mirror for my outfits. This is the only room where the mirror would have place and would also make sense. As you see there are not a lot of things I would change about it.
Bathroom
The bathroom is very small, but I do not mind it too much. There is no bath, so it does not need a lot of space. However, I do wish to have a bath in the future. During winter months, it is nice to have a relaxing bath at least once a month.
I would wish for a bigger sink space for whenever my boyfriend shaves or I do my hair and to have a space for the products. However, the size of the bathroom does not bother me. It is the bad-quality shower and furniture that bothers me. The furniture is not aesthetic but also not practical and very difficult to clean. However, I love the mirror and the mirror lights we have.
How I would improve the bathroom? I added a soft and nice shower mat. I do not know what I would want to change about the toilet (of the things that we could change). The bathroom is too small to add anything- a nicer soap plate and details like that. I think I need to organise our products and towels (I will work on that).
Kitchen
Just like the bathroom, the kitchen is also small but I wish it would be bigger! We both cook together and sometimes it is too small for us to move around (and then add a curious little bunny for a whole package).
Secondly, we buy new kitchen gadgets and tools that we use, and there is almost no surface place anymore for cutting meat or vegetables. The surface is covered by a Cecotec coffee maker, grill, Moulinex air fryer and more.
The same as a bathroom, there is not a lot we can change, add or improve when it comes to decorations or a more aesthetic look. We have the furniture that we have, floors that we have and both of these rooms are mostly practical anyway. So far, I have only bought gadgets and plates that we needed for cooking. As well as some baskets for potatoes and fruits.
How will I improve the kitchen? Firstly, I need to get new curtains. The current curtains are dirty but also ripped. I hope that I can sew it myself if I get a sewing machine somewhere or ask my mom to do that.
Last but not least, I have organised my dry ingredients in the plastic jars from my chocolate drinks, but I want to buy organisers for cleaning tools and bottles and spices.
My dressing room and closet
Last but not least is my dressing room, closet, clothing dryer and bicycle room. This is the room that has way too many things in it making it difficult to clean or keep organised. However, I do what I can with it. The furniture is very old, dark and ugly and does not match at all with anything.
However, over the years I have learned to work with the room I have. I have my bags and shoes nicely displayed and organised. As well as the clothing and makeup.
Years ago, I bought plastic makeup organisers from Shein and Eiffel Tower jewellery organisers from Maison Du Monde in France. However, I would like to have a nice makeup vanity space for doing my makeup or filming videos.
