Learn with me how to style a sweater dress with OTK boots! Recently, I ordered the oversized knitted sweater dress in aesthetic brown for a very affordable price. That is how I fell in love. However, I needed to come up with ideas on how to style it (to have the best wear out of the Fall dress).

Therefore, I have my vintage suede Over-the-knee boots for Petites that I am obsessed with, and I decided to put my two favourite pieces together.

Why do you need a sweater dress?

A sweater dress is an amazing Fall and winter fashion essential because it is casual, warm and comfortable. However, the knitted dress is also an article of very classy and flattering clothing that can be worn for any life occasion.

Where to wear a sweater dress?

A sweater dress is the Autumn and Winter must-have essential, because of how versatile it is! Firstly, for any street-style outfit with sneakers (I wrote a blog post of my pink sweater dress styled with sneakers) or combat boots and a leather jacket, to get grab your morning coffee or do some shopping. Secondly, it is cute and suitable for a Fall date night or day look. Thirdly, in a professional atmosphere for interviews and office jobs. However, if you wear it for work, I suggest styling it with a blazer or trench coat, and a bootie.

How to style a sweater dress with OTK boots?

Loose knitted dress

The dress in the photos has a loose, oversize cut. Therefore, I used my wide Guess belt to cinch it in and make it more flattering. However, for the work environment, I would choose tiny belts.
The Autumn dress has a deep, wide cute neckline that can be worn on one shoulder. As well as long sleeves that I pushed upwards to make the sleeves suit my short, Petite arms.

Therefore, the dress is suitable for petite women as well as regular-sized. However, I suggest pulling up your sleeves as I did to make the sleeves fall nicely on your arms. The length is perfect for Petites. Without the belt, it would be even longer.

Over-the-knee boots for Petites

I will find any excuse to wear my over-the-knee boots, this time my excuse was a sweater dress. As a petite, I could not choose good-fitting, suitable-length OTK boots. However, when I did, they always hurt my feet or did not suit my legs fully. Finally, I found these beauties last Autumn, and I am so happy!
