What do you think about corsets and corset tops? If you wear them, you will want to know how to style a corset top for an everyday look. However, if you do not wear them, maybe you will want to learn where I ordered mine and challenge yourself.
I have been going into the corset world since I interviewed the amazing corset designer and maker Stella from Champagne Corsets on my blog. Since then, I am testing and playing around with different bustiers and corset tops. Not being able to afford a corset from Champagne Corsets yet. However, one day Stella, one day.

What types of corset-like fashion items are there?
- Corsets (duh!). Keeps your posture and torso in place. Sometimes even helps with back problems. Order your beautiful custom corset for wedding or any other special event from Champagne Corsets.
- Bustiers. I bought a bustier (from Korean fashion, code GLAMCOFFEE to save up) last year for affordable price. The bustier is black with gold embroidered flowers and it is gorgeous.
- Corset tops. About the corset top that I just got, you can read below.
- Corset belts. I have a gorgeous corset belt with embroidered red flowers (Korean fashion, code GLAMCOFFEE). They are usually just wider belts that cinch in your waist giving you a more hourglass look.
Corset top vs bustier: what is the difference?
Are a corset and bustier the same? No, a corset top gives the waist and body better hold, while the bustier pushes up and holds the chest area. I have found both for a great price while still having great quality.
Affordable linen and cotton corset top
Recently I ordered a lot of different clothing items from Dress Lily (mostly Fall and winter dresses). However, this vintage-looking corset top caught my attention. I already had an idea of how to style it. Therefore, I added it to my cart and was a little bit sceptical (because of the price and also my bigger bust size).
However, the corset top surprised me. Firstly, the corset top is made out of great materials- linen and cotton (all natural). Secondly, colours are really beautiful in real life. Finally, it fits like a glove, is comfortable on and makes me look bomb.
However, I like to be honest with you. Two things that I want to mention. Firstly, the strap does feels a little bit cheaper, but you can easily replace it with something else. Secondly, it is difficult to put it on fast. You will need to unstrap it until the end (almost), and then again put the strap in. However, that is how real corsets are like as well. It is the whole experience and not fast fashion experience. I felt like I needed to mention that.
How to style a corset top for an everyday look?
Depends on the colours of the top and the materials. However, I have three ideas in mind: leather (pants, skirt), denim (pants, skirt, shorts) or cargo pants.
As the corset that I got is made from natural materials, linen and cotton, and has a beautiful blueprint on the corset top. I have no other option than style it with denim jeans. White rips on jeans mix great with the top. The jeans are from Boohoo, Petite section. I always wanted ripped mom jeans to wear with heels.
If you are searching for affordable, casual everyday jeans, then I suggest Stradivarius (I know you have Stradivarius in UK and Spain and some other countries). Jeans from Stradivarius are affordable, but soft and comfortable for the price. Stradivarius has a big choice and sells regular, tall, curvy and Petite sizes.
However, as it is the Fall season, for footwear I added my sustainable ankle boots from Vivaia. If it would be the summer, white sneakers would look stunning with the corset.
As the last detail, I threw on my trench coat for Petites from Korean fashion and a beige crossbody bag from Ideal of Sweden.
