Glam but first coffee
How to get a week’s worth of outfits out of 5 basics? Why would you need to do that you will ask? Simple. For example, if you go for a travel and do not have enough space in your luggage, with simple tricks you can make your outfits pop out. The same for if you are on a budget but want to make your outfits different and more interesting, this may help you as well! As well as just to show you why it is important to keep a few basic fashion pieces in your closet and style your wardrobe around them!
You will not believe but even the biggest fashionistas are into basic and casual outfits and what they do is to add some pop of detail or color using accessories or some piece of clothing. We can all learn this skill and make us look like high-end fashionistas even if we shop in H&M and Zara!

Skirts and blouses
We all have skirts at home, at least we all women have skirts at home! Whatever style you are into- denim, mini, maxi, bell-type of a skirt but we all have them and they go great with blouses. As I love to mix casual style with a little bit of glamour, then I think that on this occasion I would take my denim shirt (which is a basic but very necessary piece in your wardrobe) and wear it together with light-weighted summer blouse!
I can already imagine it in my mind! Denim skirt, nice blouse (any color to be honest but better single-colored and having hair in beach waves, Ray-Ban sunglasses on and running through the streets to your lunch date, wearing some cute ballet slippers or maybe converse (if you want to make this look even more casual!
You can also pair it with:
Black work bag if you go to the office or simple and small cross-body bag for your lunch date! But black bag is always a must-have
Fine jewelry and watch. For me wearing casual and stylish outfits with fine jewelry looks very neat and put together! With that outfit there is nothing to add and nothing to take back!
Denim jeans and tank tops/ silk tops
We all need to have a good pair of skinny jeans in our closet if you do not have- stop reading and go buy some! Denim jeans can be styled in hundreds of ways. I love to style denim jeans with cute tank tops or silk tops. Why silk tops? Because silk tops give the denim jeans a more expensive and luxurious look. Summer silk tops can be found in Zara and many high-street stores but they will make you look like your outfit costs millions!
You can pair it also with:
Blazer or leather jacket. It all depends again on what kind of look are you going to. You want to look more classy and professional, or more casual and laid back? But these are always my favorite ways to pair jeans.
If you chose blazer, then the pumps it is (even though converse never let us down). But with leather jacket converse sneakers or some ankle boots will look much better. It depends on the weather as well.
Dresses and denim jacket
I remember when I bought a denim cropped jacket a few years ago and it was gathering dust in my closet and I never wore it. Why I bought it? A denim jacket is a staple piece and everyone needs to have one right? Yes, it is right but I bought it without knowing how to style it and what I would wear it with (that is a very bad but very common fashion mistake that people do).
Then a year ago I decided to start pairing my denim jackets with spring and summer dresses and it was perfect. This combination solved two of my problems. What jacket to pair with dresses when the days or nights are not as warm? As well as, what to do with my new-old denim jacket?
Denim jackets are the best for summer! The material is very great for sunny days, feels light and not too hot. Denim is very durable, many times I put the jacket on bench or grass when I want to sit down. Last but not least, the denim jacket looks so stylish with summer dresses and compliments the outfit very well!
But how I discovered that jacket would pair greatly with dresses? When I bought my black Zara basic dress! It became my favorite dress for when I travel and want to look feminine but still comfortable! Some pair of simple, good looking dresses for daily life is a must-have!
You can also pair it with:
Sneakers or ballet slippers. My Zara dress I tend to pair a lot with converse or black Adidas Superstar sneakers but if you are having a flirty summer kind of dress, it might look good with ballet slippers!
Sunglasses. Summer dress and without sunglasses? Impossible and they also help with your wrinkles. How? Because sun is not shining in your face!
Fun hats. I still do not have one but it is on the top of my wish-list. Dresses and denim look very good with summer hats on. Try it out! If you travel or spend a lot of time in the sun, they will protect you from the sun while you will look very stylish!
Denim shorts and T-shirt
In Spain, every girl wears denim shorts. In summer it is difficult to see a girl wearing something else. I feel like whenever I wear a skirt or dress, people look at me like I would be dressed weird. Therefore I do see denim shorts as being my must-have moment (let’s be honest, in hot summer days they are much more comfortable then skirt). I have a few pairs and I definitely will be looking for more!
Some years ago shorts, in general, were not seen as something classy and not a piece of clothing to wear with a blazer and go to an office. Times have changed though and now denim and also shorts are worn with classy blazers and pumps! Not saying I am approving this but I have seen the cutest outfit that I hope to recreate one day: Fuschia pink blazer, denim shorts, and white crop top! It looked so hot and the best I have ever seen!
You can also pair it with:
Crop tops. As I mentioned before, since I saw that outfit inspiration with Fuschia pink blazer, I cannot see denim shorts paired in any other way than with some crop top (and maybe blazer if you want to go that direction).
Sneakers/ ballet slippers. The same thing- depends on what you are going for! More classy and professional outfit or something that looks more simple and going to a shopping date with your girls! I usually choose sneakers, my favorite are Converse!
Maxi skirt and crop top
I have never been a maxi skirt fan (maybe because I am a short girl and I feel like I get lost in a skirt like that). I do know that there are many women who wear a maxi skirt a lot especially in spring and summer, and I also know that they can look very great when styled properly.
To not feel like I am lost in my own skirt, I want to get a maxi skirt with are made out of light-weighted material and maybe some slip on one side to show off my leg. In general any long skirt or dresses always look better with the slip! If you have any suggestions for those, let me know!
The best outfits with maxi skirts are the ones that are styled with crop tops- at least for my taste! Another cute way is casual T-shirts, sneakers, and big avatar sunglasses. Ah, a whole mood! Watching Pinterest for hours every day has really inspired me!
