I am a Petite and even though I am not engaged, I have thought already and looked at wedding dress options for Petites. As a short woman and fashion blogger for Petites, I know how difficult it is to find even a maxi party dress or wedding guest dress.

When searching for bridesmaid or wedding guest dresses, the best solution is to just go to a tailor and fix it. However, what about a wedding dress and what brands or designers that offer Petite wedding dress options?

Pre-made or custom-made?

Firstly, I think we should look at the option to have the wedding dress custom-made and designed for you and your height. Wedding dresses are already expensive, but custom-made dresses are even more. Therefore, I wanted to get this option out of way because if you do not have a budget for it, then you do not have and we will see other options you have. However, if you have a budget for expensive dress, I suggest to make your dream dress.

Alter the dress at tailor

Weddings are such a big industry that exists special tailors that can alter your wedding dress and have all the instruments for it. Therefore, you can buy any dress you love, and go to a special tailor and alter the length (ask the salon if they have the tailor).

Wedding dress choice and tips

A few years ago I wrote a general blog post on how to choose a wedding dress and what is the wedding etiquette. However, today I will talk more about wedding fashion tips for short women.

Length

Wedding dresses are usually maxi dresses, and maxi dresses are great on Petites too. However, if it is a simple wedding it can also be a shorter wedding dress that will show more skin and make you look longer.

Neckline

The most flattering necklines for Petite women are V-neck lines and heart lines.

Skirt design

The skirt is one of the main parts of the dress. I would prefer a sleek, bodycon style not too puffy. However, a slit will look for any skirt style and lengthen your legs. Finally, any vertical lines will make you look taller, like a pleated skirt.

Sleeves

However, what about sleeves? I would choose anything from no sleeves to straps, to short sleeves up to 2/3 sleeves.

ASOS

I do not support ASOS anymore as they make fun of women and do not support women. However, for the sake of this blog post, I had to mention them because they have a few affordable dresses.

Davids Bridal

David’s Bridal has amazing wedding dresses in Petite sizes. What I love is that the price point is from approximately $200 up to $1000 and more.

Reformation

Reformation has a few wedding dresses but they are not Petite-sized. However, I suggest looking at their white dresses, and if you have a simpler wedding, just registration or at the beach, I would take a look because some of them are very stunning and sleek.

JJSHOUSE (can personalize size)

Have you ever heard or ordered from JJSHOUSE? Their wedding dresses are stunning and are very affordable and I am so curious to order from them to test them out.

If you pay 24 EUR, you can get the dress tailored for you! However, not all dresses. The dress I love the most is obviously almost sold and not not able to tailor (I would still order it and just tailor it somewhere else).

Karen Millen is known for elegant and timeless dresses. Dresses from Karen Millen will be suitable for simple and elegant wedding, while also possible to wear the dress afterwards.
