Glam but first coffee
I have seen many people doing a manicure at home and dyeing hair at home due to quarantine. To be honest, that has been my life for the last three years because I cannot afford to go to the hairdresser. I am still messy, I am not perfect but each time it is better and practice makes it better and better! Do you know how to dye hair at home?
Dying hair at home is not the most difficult thing in the world but at the same time, not the easiest! The first time I dyed my hair, my bathroom looked like after a war! As for anything you do in your life, it needs a little patience, practice, and experience! Let’s start with some steps you need to take and then I will share two videos that I have done showing you how I dye my hair at home!
What color to choose?
Have you decided what color you want to achieve? Do you want to leave the same tone as you already have or maybe change it drastically? One advice, if you have dark-colored hair, do not dye the hair in blonde at home! It is not that easy and most likely you will not be happy with the result! If you are blonde already, then you can dye your hair in any color you want because on blond any color sticks very good!
What brand and hair dye to choose?
So many brands and companies to choose from, which one to choose? Firstly, depends on the price too because there are some with very high prices (I never choose them). Secondly, I try to choose from well-known brands. Lastly, I read about ingredients and see if the dye is not too chemical and strong! The one hair dye that I am loving a lot is Garnier Olia, I am obsessed with the hair dye from Garnier and have used it for the past two years. In upcoming videos, I will show you review and tutorial of two different hair dyes: Garnier Olia and Naturtint.
Prepare yourself and bathroom
Remember to put on your old, black T-shirt. Dying hair is very messy, be prepared. I would advise anything that has long sleeves. When that has been done, prepare your bathroom as well. Put on paper towels or old newspapers on the floor and sink. Trust me, I forget it many times and then with dirty hands and when the damages have already been done, I try to clean it up!
Time to dye!
This is not the time when you know everything- reading instructions is not optional! Read instructions very carefully, what steps to do, how much time you need to wait to wash out, and all the information possible! Start with dying the roots of hair and front part, it is the most important part that you want to make sure is dyed very good. Then go from the front to the back and dye the rest of the hair. Use clips and hat if you have to secure the hair on your head- and wait! Meanwhile, clean off any dye you got on your face or skin.
When you are rinsing your hair, do it very good! Otherwise it will be sticky and greasy.
