How to be a classy lady will not be the usual blog post about etiquette, how to act during lunch, how to sit, or not even into details about how to dress. I wanted to write this article to all the beautiful women out there who do not feel confident enough to wear a classy dress.
For ladies that think showing glutes and chest will put you higher than other women, or gives you confidence. It gives you another impression, it gives you the attention that you so desire but wrong attention.
Clothing and style are in the world to tell the story, to give the first impression. What first impression do we give people with underwear on TikTok or booty shorts on the street? Yes, people will watch you, talk about you. There are a special place and time when this type of clothing is acceptable.
I will sound like a granny but I remember when only a few years ago that kind of shorts only prostitutes or strippers would wear. If you would see a woman wearing booty shorts on the street, usually you would think she is going to work or from the work, one type of work! How to be a classy lady and how to dress like a classy lady?
What is the problem?
To answer the question of how to be a classy lady we should look at why this is a problem! Social media with teenage influencers dancing in bikinis is the problem. Teenagers trying to get an older man’s attention on the street by wearing booty shorts is a problem. Society by saying “this is the modern world and new normal” is the problem. Feminists walking down the street with bare chests saying that clothing does not tell who we are is a problem.
Let me give a disclaimer here. I am not saying that women who dress very sexy are asking for touching or anything. I have always believed that women should be able to walk naked without being touched! However, respect is earned and not demanded. Clothing is one way to show first impressions and how much you respect yourself and your body!
Bad attention?
Here comes the last but not least problem, beautiful ladies wearing very revealing clothing saying they do not do it for attention but themselves, is the problem! Girl, for yourself? How butt cheeks hanging out helps you? This is where I am talking about finding the self-esteem that even in a plastic bag you feel beautiful! Do not worry, you do not need to wear a plastic bag. I would suggest thinking to find the style that is special for you, suits you, and screams that you are confident, you know that and you do not need to show skin to prove it!
So, how to be a classy lady and look good?

Respect and self-esteem issues
After all, self-esteem comes within ourselves. You can wear whatever you want but if you do not feel beautiful and confident, it will show. I see teenage girls calling these very revealing outfits as being “cute”. Here is a little bit of a secret, none of the designers would ever call an outfit like that cute, maybe sexy, revealing, some would use even “cheap” but not cute. What is a cute outfit? A flannel shirt, cozy sweater, or floral dress is cute! Ask any style expert who does not run after “sex sells”. There are so many cute denim shorts that are still shorts but cover your private parts.
Why can I talk about it? Because I have been there. This is usually for 18-20 years old that needs attention and they do not know how to show it. They also have low respect for themselves. That sounds harsh and you will probably at the beginning think I talk bullshit, but I am an old lady in my late twenties, I have been there! What scares me is that it is not anymore 18years old, they are 13 years old and it is all put on social media!
Parents fault?
I do not want to see 7-13 years old walking around in the underwear, asking for attention that they do not need. Maybe they miss attention from their parents? Parents are also now more busy with their lives. I will leave this for the experts to look at, I can not talk on that behalf. Seeing these young women and men trying to not look at them because they know these girls are underage. Let’s be honest, we all watch because that is horrifying because some of them are pedophiles. I will repeat myself, with the outfit we show part of ourselves, also how much we respect ourselves, our opinion about ourselves. Which part do you want to show?
Lady with the secret
How to be a classy lady? Be a lady with the secret and parents who have daughters, please teach them this. If girls will respect themselves and their bodies, men will as well! Ladies never show off too much, they show off enough to make others wonder. They keep their secret. What is interesting about a woman who puts herself out there? If you decide to go for a little bit of decollete, do that! Make sure that it is not too low, and everything still stays in the place. When going for a decollete moment, I love to keep my dress a little longer. On the other hand, if you want to show a little bit of leg, then I go for a more covered chest area.
Keep a secret!
Respect yourself enough to say No
I will tell you a secret. One day I started to fully love myself, I still struggle as we all, but I respect myself enough to say no to people who do not deserve my time. I am talking about private life but also business life because as women it is important to remember that we are responsible for letting people respect us or not.
The moment I started living for myself, the moment I showed others that I respect myself and my body, my life changed for 360 degrees if not more. I found my boyfriend, I started my blog, and Youtube and I moved to Spain. I left the work where some people made me feel the lowest! What changed in my wardrobe? One day I realized I do not have any sexy mini dress to wear to dates with my boyfriend, haha. I understood that my skirt and dresses become longer, but feminine and I wear outfits with my head raised high. I was confident, self-respecting woman that could be seen in my outfits as well!
Clothing is like a mirror, it reflects more than you think!
Yes, I do believe that clothing at some point reflects us and tells a lot more than you think.
Stand out!
I will always remember the one day when I wore this dress, made my hair, and put on very simple makeup. We went out to have dinner in the city and I had a mood to dress up. I am obsessed with this dress because it hides the flaws and shows off everything that needs to be shown.
I remember to walk from the bus to the restaurant and I felt weird. People looked at me, even women stared and smiled. I felt great, I looked amazing and I felt the respect in people’s eyes towards me. The day when I realized, never blend in, stand out and right people will notice you!
In Spain, I feel different many times when I wear dresses and skirts. Most of the girls and women here wear shorts. I can understand that because it is so hot and is easier with shorts than a skirt. Though, I love to have my style, my way of dressing without following the crowd!
Never be ashamed to stand out!
When I came to Spain for the first time, I felt interesting. I Saw all the beautiful Spanish ladies, most of them looked the same! The same denim shorts, some simple top, black platform boots, and red lipstick- almost all of them! Then they stared at me, I stared at them, I was not falling into their category. Did I feel bad? Oh hell no, the best is being in my late twenties is having knowledge that I have a style, class and I am a lady! I wish that I could tell that to my 18 years old me!
What classy women wear?
Last but not least, I wanted to give you a small shopping list or checklist of a few items that you would want to have in your wardrobe. These items will help you to dress up and look more classy and stlyish!
I would suggest to have a nice pair of heels that is not too high. Have a few elegant dresses that are great for cocktail party or date, and for work. Blazers are amazing to style with jeans and dress them up. Last but not least, I would get some basic silky tops that can be paired with skirt, denim and jeans.
- Nice pair of high heels. Black or beige that are comfortable and not too high.
- A nice dress for work or business meetings. This depends if you have that type of work.
- A few nice dresses for a lunch out, for cocktail party or date. Remember to always keep that secret.
- Blazers. If I could I would have blazers in all possible colours. They can be paired with dresses, jeans, skirt and everything you can imagine.
- Silk tops and tank tops. Silky soft tops look very sophisticated paired with jeans or classy skirt. A nice basic essential to have!
Conclusion
By writing this article I did not want to make you feel bad. If you wear booty shorts with bralettes, I am not saying you are cheap or anyhow lower. I only want women to analyze their style and wardrobe, be critical, and think- why am I wearing this? Is it because I need the attention and I feel lonely? Maybe because all my friends wear it and I do not want to stand out. Girl, I understand you and I have been there.
Therefore, I am here acting all smart and spreading my experience and knowledge of how this all looks like now from almost 30 years old. Yes, it sounds like coming from a granny but to be honest, I feel like my life only starts. I feel like in my early 20s, only smarter, with more self-esteem and knowing that I ain’t need no booty shorts to show my worth.
