Easy DIY beauty gifts from the heart. As the 1st Advent is coming closer and I am having this Christmas spirit already, I would love to write about Christmas beauty gifts you can make YOURSELF (lip balms, body scrubs, soap and so on). We should think more about the ingredients and products that we put on our bodies! Easy, beautiful, unique and healthy- what can be better? So let’s begin!
1. BODY SCRUB
You will need: 3 little jars
120g Coconut oil
240g Sugar
(optional) Essential oils- I used cinnamon oil (Christmasy and yummy)
Pigments or colors
Melt coconut oil (pour hot water in a bowl, and put a small pot with coconut oil in it to melt it). Add sugar and mix it all. Add pigment or essential oil (just a few drops), Mix it in and pour the mixture into jars. Glue some tag on saying: Body scrub (mine is in Latvian), decorate with ribbons and colorful paper. Here you go!
2. LIP BALMS that will melt their heart
You will need: small pots/tins (metalic or plastic)
8 tbsp Coconut oil
3 tbsp beewax (yellow or white)
1,5 tbsp honey
(optional) Essential oils and coloring (i used food coloring for few, can use lipstick)
Put oil, wax, and honey boiling in double pots (full with water underneath and pot with the mixture above). On VERY small fire, slowly until mixture is melted.
Take off the oven and add some essential oils or coloring until the mixture starts to thicken.
Pour the mixture into small pots, put on the covers and let it thicken completely.
As the last touch, I glued pots on small tags and wrote on: Lip balm and ingredients that the lip balm is made of. Small but pretty gift for your friends.
3. HOMEMADE SOAP for any gender
You will need: Soap mass ( I used with shea butter- because i like it softer and moisturizing for hands as well)
Everything that you want to use as a decor: I used coffee beans and rose buds
Cupcake forms or ice cube trays
Essential oils or food dye (optional)
Again, start with melting the soap mass and do the double pot trick (water underneath in one put and put in the pot with soap mass in). I Had 500g soap mass for 9 soaps and I still had leftover. Wait until soap melts completely, add essential oils and coloring. In cupcake forms put in dried flowers and coffee beans and finally pour in the soap liquid. Put it in the fridge for a few hours to freeze.
Take out from fridge and decorate and wrap into transparent paper, add some tags so your friend/ relative/ partner know the ingredients!
