Another Monday, another Cruelty-free beauty blog post. Today we are going to find out the best cruelty-free sunscreens for body and face 2021. However, I want to bring the maximum value with my blog, therefore, I will explain something more about sunscreens and how they work.
The important part about the whole theme is, do not forget to protect your skin from the sun. I burned my skin very badly last year, and I do not want to experience it anymore. Therefore, this year I am ready with many sunscreen options and want you to be prepared as well!

What is the difference between UVA, UVB, and UVC?
All of the three- UVA, UVB, and UVC are forms of ultraviolet light rays that are naturally occurring, but not created equally.
UVA allows us to tan and reach deeper layers of our skin. However, too much UVA will make your skin wrinkle and create premature aging. UVA rays are around 365 days a year- they get through clouds and everything.
UVB rays only reach the outer layers of skin. The rays also enhance skin aging but also very serious skin cancer. However, UVB rays are not always there and are less impactful.
The Earth’s atmosphere filters all the UVC radiation out therefore, we do not need to worry about the UVC, which is good because they are very dangerous.
Mineral vs. Chemical sunscreens
What is the difference between mineral and physical sunscreens? Mineral sunscreens are more difficult to rub in the skin than chemical or physical sunscreens. Chemical sunscreens penetrate deeper layers of the skin.
Chemical sunscreens can affect your hormone level in the blood.
How much sunscreen do you need?
You do not need a lot of sunscreens but remember to apply them every 30-60 minutes if available and also after every swim session. Preferably choose SPF creams with high protection- at least 30.
Vitamin D and how SPF Cream works?
SPF creams protect your skin from burns and avoid you getting skin cancer. Not all sunscreens protect you against UVA rays. To be protected against all rays, choose a sunscreen that says “broad spectrum”.
Vitamin D promotes healthy bone growth, and it is the natural immune-system booster. Therefore, go in the sun and no matter what your politicians tell you. Get yourself under the sun but protect your skin with sunscreens.

Another great and popular skincare brand is Glossier. I see more and more popular people using the brand and talking about how great the quality is. Therefore, this summer try out Invisible shield sunscreen that also is a broad spectrum SPF cream.

IT cosmetics brand is famous for CC creams and being cruelty-free high-quality brand. I have not had the opportunity to try the brand but it is in my wish list.

Madara cosmetics is amazing natural brand that comes from Latvia. As I am Latvian, I am very proud of talking about the brand! They have great skin products and also new makeup line. However, I have not tried out their SPF cream or makeup.

Lush Solid sunscreen SPF30
Lush is one of the oldest well-known skincare and bath product brand. I have tried a lot of bath products from Lush but not skincare, nor sunscreen. However, I am curious to try their solid products. If you try to live a minimalistic lifestyle, the solid SPF cream is for you.
Bali Body pineapple tanning oil SPF15
I chose this sunscreen because of so many reasons. Firstly, look at that unique packaging. Secondly. pineapples and if you do not like pineapples, they also have watermelon and others. Last but not least, I like that it is oil because I know that many people do not like creams.

One of the best sunscreens I have had is the Coconut oil cruelty-free sunscreen from Puru. CRUELTY-FREE sunscreens for body and face 2021? Puru SPF cream is just like that! What I love about the cream is that it can be used for the face and skin, as well as smells like coconuts. I also like that by buying the product you support small businesses.
Aveda daily light guard defense fluid broad spectrum SPF30
We found out that we need to buy sunscreens with broad spectrum. Therefore, another SPF cream from Aveda that I found with broad spectrum.
Alba Botanica fragrance-free clear spray SPF50
Alba Botanica is a new brand for me. However, it is sensitive to sunscreen and fragrance-free which is very important for a few people. Then, the cream has SPF50 which is my preferable SPF level. Finally, the price is very affordable.
3lab perfect sunscreen broad spectrum SPF40
I recently search for very high protection sunscreens. People who live in very hot and sunny areas or burn easily, should use SPF 40 and preferably with a broad spectrum. Therefore, I would suggest trying out the 3lab perfect sunscreen broad spectrum.
Derma E skin defense mineral oil-free sunscreen SPF30
I mentioned that I wish to try Glossier and Drunk Elephant. However, Derma-E is another brand that I would love to try out more from! If you only need an SPF cream for the face, choose Derma-E Mineral oil-free cream.
