Best spring jackets and coats that will look good on any woman, but specifically on Petite women. These jackets are my spring staple pieces for my spring wardrobe that I wear myself. Therefore, I will give you some tips on how I wear these spring essentials, and for what occasions as well.

This would not be the best Petite fashion blog if I would not provide you with some tips and fashion hacks on how to choose outerwear for short women.

How to choose the best outerwear for short women?

If you want to look the most flattering as a short woman, and visually lengthen your body, these are the tips for you. Firstly, choose shorter coats rather than long coats. Shorter coats will show off your legs and will not make you look like one big block. Secondly, choose fitter jackets and not oversize ones. However, if you choose oversize, style the jacket with more fitted pants and tops. Finally, I prefer less bulkier jackets.

Leather jacket

The leather jacket is the most important staple piece for anyone (even men), because it can be worn all year around and dressed up or down.

In the fashion world, there are so many leather jackets and styles (like a biker, blazer, classy, oversize style) that you will find yours. I wear my leather jacket in spring mostly with jeans or dresses and a skirt.

Denim jacket

A denim jacket is an important basic piece for spring and summer wardrobe. When I lived in Latvia, I wore a denim jacket in summer, but in Spain, it is too hot, so I have included it in my spring wardrobe.

However, I mostly wear a denim jacket only with my dresses or skirt. The denim jacket is an amazing piece to dress down your dresses and skirt by adding converse sneakers.

Trench coat

A trench coat is essential for classy women or businesswomen. However, I love the trench coat, because it looks very stylish worn with blue denim or even sweatpants. Have you seen all those paparazzi photos of Hollywood stars? They always wear a trench coat with basic hoodies or sweatpants.

Teddy coat/jacket

You can definitely live without a teddy jacket or coat. However, many times I go for walks or need to run some errands, and I have found my teddy blazer to be perfect for running errands while feeling warm and comfortable. Finally, it is perfect also for weekend getaway trips as it does not take up a lot of space and does not wrinkle! Teddy jackets look great with any denim, skirt or dress.

Puffer jacket

I have two kinds of puffer jackets for spring. One is for mountains and snow getaways (the puffer is brighter, more casual and bulkier to keep me warm. However, the other one is a very thin puffer jacket that is supposed to be taken for when you travel. I love it because, in Spain, it can be warm during the day but get very chill and cold at night.

Business casual blazer

Usually, I wear a blazer with jeans or dresses. Therefore, I accentuated the blazer to be business casual. Personally, I do not wear blazers for meetings or the office. However, I love to add a blazer to turn my jeans look or casual dress into a more professional look.

Tweed jacket

I finally got my tweed jacket a few weeks ago, and I have already worn it twice. The Chanel-inspired tweed jackets and dresses became popular a few years ago. And you know that I spy on trends not to wear them during the trendy season, but to borrow it if I see that I love how it looks and if I can incorporate them into my style and elevate my looks.

However, there is a thin line between looking expensive and looking like a president’s wife! Therefore, I love to wear the tweed jacket with either a fitted little black dress or denim to dress it down!
